If you are a fan of healthy lifestyle and you don’t fancy crowd, Grand Salads Bistro is the ticket. The moniker may ring a bell because this is the 3rd branch so far, apart from the sisters at Suntec City and AXA Tower.
Grands Salads Bistro is a mini route-march away from Jimmy Monkey, and so when we say this cafe is a temporary escape from the hustle and bustle, you know we are not joking. Rest assure that this 3-month-old cafe is nestled snugly in a quaint corner of One-North, so be prepared to indulge in a quiet affair amongst the overlooking greens. We suggest navigating your way here in your ride because parking is a breeze.
Step in and be greeted by a casual yet classy environment, whereby the sunlight is the main source of lighting thanks to the tall glass windows. Expect to rub shoulders with busy executives whom are packing on some nutrition for the hectic day ahead. Better yet, come at odd timings and have all the attention from the earnest and dedicated crew.
In the menu, expect sandwiches, wraps, soup, desserts and salads (duh!) that are freshly made every day. Word to the wise: Don’t even bother asking for fried grub here, your efforts would be in vain.
To start off we got ourselves a tuna wrap and a mushroom soup.
We adored how neatly the tuna wrap was sliced, hence revealing a medley of colourful veggies graciously fitted within the tomato wrap. Every chow was crunchy with a subtle hint of olive oil and lemon. The tuna, on the other hand, could be more generous. Shameless carnivores like us should give this a shot.
The mushroom soup was a good compliment to the wrap, though we prefer the soup to be thicker.
Tucked in between the pillowy multigrain bread were some humble greens and grilled chicken, and a serving of pasta salad was the sidekick. The lightly-salted white meat was pleasant to the tastebuds whilst the multigrain sandwich buns would wow you with the fluffy texture. The pasta salad, tossed in olive oil, was a light touch to the dish.
The blueberry muffin was a giant beauty. Not only did the muffin teased our eyes, it won our taste buds over as well. Have the muffin warmed up by the crew for you before you pry your fork through the crisp outside and fluffy insides. Be delighted to discover generous morsels of blueberry hidden near the base.
Warning: Not to be shared, ladies.
This third sister has unpretentiously healthy and tasty nosh, and the crowd of executives during lunch hour proved its popularity. The relaxed vibe and the down-to-earth service beckons us to stay, and we have no reasons not to. It helps that they kept their price points low so that a family get-together here would not break the bank at all.
