TUCKED AWAY AT THE ROOFTOP OF ILLUMA, THIS RESTAURANT EASILY GOES UNNOTICED.
WELL, I AM NOT SURPRISED AT ALL,
BECAUSE SOME SINGAPOREANS USUALLY FIND IT A CHORE TO EXPLORE.
LITTLE DID THEY KNOW THEY ARE ACTUALLY MISSING OUT ON A LOT!
CHEF DANIEL’S KITCHEN COMES IN 2 PARTS:
THE MAIN DINING AREA + THE KITCHEN.
THE KITCHEN IS A SEPARATE PLACE ON ITS OWN, BUT JUST SECONDS AWAY FROM THE DINING AREA.
HENCE YOU WOULD SEE WAITERS MOVING TO AND FRO BOTH PLACES.
AND “EVERYTHING” IS MADE OUT OF GLASS SO YOU COULD ACTUALLY SEE WHAT THE CHEFS ARE UP TO.

WE CAME FOR THE DELUXE SET LUNCH AT 10.5++ PER SET.
(soup of the day + main course + dessert of the day)
DON’T YOU LIKE HOW ELEGANTLY THE WAITERS & WAITRESSES DRESS?
IT TELLS YOU THEY MEAN BUSINESS,
AND BY BUSINESS I MEAN FOOD.
THEIR SERVICE WAS ACCEPTABLE.
THE SOUP CAME HOT. THANKFULLY.
(I ALWAYS HATE IT WHEN SOUPS COME LUKEWARM)
THE CREAM WAS STRONG, AND SO WAS THE CORN FLAVOUR.
NOT TOO BAD.
IF THERE’S SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT FOCCACIA, IT IS THE LIGHT FRAGRANCE OF THE HERBS TEASING YOUR SENSE OF SMELL.
IT IS NO WONDER MOST RESTAURANTS TEND TO SERVE FOCCACIA TO ENHANCE THEIR CUSTOMERS’ APPETITE.
WE WERE GIVEN A PIECE OF THIS BREAD TO COMPLIMENT THE SOUP.
THE BREAD CAME WARM AND IT FELT REAL COMFORTABLE EATING IT WITH THE SOUP.
THE CRUST WAS SLIGHTLY CRISP
AND ON THE INSIDE, FLUFFY AND SOFT.
ALRIGHT WE ARE NOT A BUNCH OF CHEAPSKATES KAY?
NO HARM GETTING ANOTHER SERVING OF THE BREAD RIGHT?
C’MON WE ARE A BUNCH OF ARMY DUDES, CUT SOME SLACK!
THIS DISH IS FROM THE EXECUTIVE SET LUNCH MENU. 16.5++ PER SET.
I DON’T TAKE BEEF SO I COULD NOT COMMENT ON THE 2 DISHES STARRING BEEF.
NEVERTHELESS MY FRIENDS LOVED THEIR MEAT:)
I TOOK A BITE OFF THE DORY FISH AND THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD.
THE SKIN WAS SLIGHTLY CRISPY,
AND THE WHITE MEAT SIMPLY MELTED INTO SEPARATE LAYERS UPON EACH BITE.
I WOULDN’T SAY IT WAS FANTASTIC BECAUSE i got bored of dory.
THE PENNE WAS COOKED AL DENTE.
MY PEEPS WERE ALL DOUBTING THIS DISH BECAUSE THE NAME DOESN’T SOUND EXCITING AT ALL.
LIKE C’MON, “PRAWNS AND CRABMEAT”?
HOWEVER, I DECIDED TO GIVE IT A SHOT ANYWAYS.
WHEN THE BURGER WAS SERVED,
MY FRIENDS AWED AT MY PLATE AS THOUGH THEY HAD ALREADY REGRETTED WHAT THEY JUST SAID MOMENTS AGO.
ONE BITE INTO IT, AND I KNEW THIS IS THE BUSINESS I’M TALKING ABOUT.
THE PRAWNS + CRAB MEAT COMBI WAS AWESOME!
THE TEXTURE WAS QQ AND THE SEA CREATURES WERE ALL-FLAVOURED.
LOVED HOW TANGY SAUCE PAIRED UP VERY DELICATELY WITH THE PATTY.
SMOOTH!
THIS WAS A VERY ORDINARY MANGO CAKE.
DEFINITELY NOT THE MELTS-IN-YOUR-MOUTH KIND,
HOWEVER, IT WAS ALRIGHT TO END THE MEAL WITH.
THIS RESTAURANT SURELY COULD HOLD A LARGE NUMBER OF PATRONS,
SO FAMILIES AND FRIENDS DO NOT WORRY!
BE THAT AS IT MAY, RESERVATIONS IS STILL A MUST.
AN AFFORDABLE SET LUNCH BY A CELEBRITY CHEF
THIS PLACE COULD EASILY BE ONE OF THE BEST LUNCH VENUES AROUND.
